The 2018 Garden Fete and Fun Dog Show took place on Sunday 20th May at Elmham House.

A thank you from the Elmham Church Events Committee

Planning for the fete starts very early in the year.  Publicity is circulated and we would like to thank everyone who helped publicise the event, including Elmham News and other local publications, local businesses, school, parish notice boards and our local radio stations.

Word was out and this resulted in a 20% increase in attendance from the previous year.  Approximately 1100 adults and children attended the fete.

The refreshments marquee was busy for the duration of the fete, visitors sampling the delicious home-made fayre, many people enjoyed the BBQ and the pimms/beer tent was especially popular!

Numerous games encouraged good competition with lots of friendly banter.  Lots of interesting stalls to browse and great finds in the bric-a-brac tent.  Strawberries and ice cream were the order of the day, with the sun shining what could be better!

The fancy dress with royal theme saw some excellent entries making it a very difficult task for the judges.

The school children, as usual, delivered a wonderful performance.

The dog show had new classes, and our canine friends performed well.

Thanks to Tom and Jo Fitzalan-Howard for opening their garden to facilitate this great community event and for all the work in preparations.

Every year there is a large band of helpers who do so much to make this event a success, too many to mention by name, but you know who you are.  Whatever your contribution, it was invaluable, so thank you.

The final sum raised was an amazing £5,109.18, so again a huge thank you to everyone who helped and for all of you who came and parted with your money!

We look forward to seeing you in 2019.
