Grade 2* listed, the oldest part is the Tower, possibly dating back to the 1100s. Like so many parish churches, it has evolved over many centuries. The main Church was built in the 1300s with the chancel and North aisle being added much later at the end of the 19th century.
In the churchyard is a dedicated War Memorial. Inside is a Green Man as an ancient symbol of rebirth. In complete contrast, from the year 2000, is the Millenium Tapestry made by all the villagers of Guist.
Access
St Andrew is on the Southern outskirts of the village and enjoys an elevated position on the Northern side of the main Norwich to Fakenham Road A1067. There is off-road parking in the layby immediately outside the Church; this is most easily accessed from a Norwich-bound direction.
During normal business hours, the easiest means of entering St Andrew is by obtaining a key from the Post Office which looks out onto the main crossroads with the eye-catching clock-tower in the centre of the village just a couple of minutes’ walk away.
