Worthing Family History - Burial Records

St Margaret’s Church in Worthing, Norfolk has taken the historical records held in paper format and digitised this information so that it can be accessible electronically through this website.

The aim of the project has been to make this information a more widely accessible resource than before so we have better information on the position and details of graves, but also allows individuals to research their own family history.

Below is the list of historical records held.  The data is correct at time of publication on this website during May 2018.  This information has been extracted from an existing Monumental Inscriptions records book (compiled in 1993 by RAF Swanton Morley Family History Society and used on this website with the kind permission of the Mid-Norfolk Family History Society) and updated where appropriate following further research of the churchyard and the Register of Burials 1813-2004 transcribed from the original registers in 2005 - both by David Knight.   The Team Minister for St Margaret’s Church, The Rev’d Sally Kimmis, wishes to thank everyone involved in this project and also to the families who have since identified unmarked graves of their loved ones.

Where a Register Number (Reg No) entry is underlined in the table below, it is possible to click on it to access further information e.g. an image of the gravestone, confirmed details from the Monumental inscriptions record book and also supplementary information obtained through conversations with families and relatives of the deceased.

Taking the first record which has a plot number from the list below as an example:

Mary ALLSEBROOK was buried on 16 October 1843 and her grave is at plot number no D15.  This can be located on the map above, within section D, plot number 15.
